How it works
- Website owners will pay to watch a real person use their site so they can discover
where their site is confusing.
UserTesting.com
has a panel of "user testers" to do this. If you become one of our user testers,
then whenever your demographic profile is requested, you'll have an opportunity
to earn money using a website.
- You use our software to record a video of what's happening on your screen - mouse
movements, clicks, and keystrokes - and your spoken comments while you use the website
you're testing. (Videos are typically 15 minutes long.)
Watch a sample video
- You answer four questions about your experience.
See a sample summary
- You'll earn $10 (paid with PayPal).
How to become a user tester
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a computer running Windows XP or higher and a broadband Internet connection.
You can record your voice with a microphone or by telephone.
- Fill out a one-page form with your demographic information (gender, computer
experience, etc.).
- Download and run
our software to record your screen and verbal comments as you browse a sample
website.

"How to Make Money Testing Websites (Really!)"
"Here's an opportunity that allows you spend up to 15-20 minutes to test a website
and make money ($10) for doing it (yep, that's $30-$40 per hour), all from the comfort
of your home (can you say bathrobe and fuzzy slippers?). Read on."

"Testers visit and navigate through a website"
"UserTesting.com
provides quick and cheap website usability testing. Website owners can access a
network of pre-screened testers who are articulate and observant and who meet specified
demographics. Testers visit and navigate through a website and have their screen
activity and verbal comments recorded for the website owner to review."

"Sounds too good to be true? Nahh, it is true!"
"UserTesting makes it easy for you to make $10 for 20 minutes of your valuable time.
Sounds too good to be true? Nahh, it is true. This is a great money-maker for those
who know how to speak well. If you consider yourself to be a sociable person, then
give it a shot. Extra money will make you feel better about your make-money-online
experience."

"I absolutely love this job!"
"I absolutely love this job because it is so easy! I get paid $10 for each 15 minute
session I do, and I also get to check out some really cool sites."

"It's so easy, anyone can do it."
"There is no shortage of projects to go around — I usually miss out on most of them
because other users scoop them up before I get a chance (I do have a job, for crying
out loud). But if you're a stay-at-home parent or college student, you could really
pick up a decent amount of money on a day-to-day basis.
It's so easy, anyone can do it. All you need to know is how to surf the web and
talk your way through every click and scroll that you perform. Easy."

checking out. I’ve made some good money from this." Jessica Knows
"UserTesting.com is a really nice little side job"
"UserTesting.com
is a really nice little side job. I'm a grad student, and extremely busy, so I like
that I can just do a batch of two or three user tests each week. This translates
to roughly $50 every other week for sitting with my laptop and telling people why
their websites are good, bad, or ugly :-) I suspect you could earn more if you were
really on top of claiming jobs, but I'm busy enough that I really only grab them
when I have time."

"You earn $10 per site tested"
"I’ve been doing some site reviews through
UserTesting.com. It’s like taking paid surveys
but it pays a bit more. You use recording technology on your computer to capture
your site navigation (they provide it) and review the site while recording comments
on your phone. Then you write a summary answering four short questions. You earn
$10 per site tested. I think it’s a pretty good rate, since you only need to record
5-10 minutes of comments and then write up answers to the 4 standard questions."
