    Cutting copy by 50% (and then another 50%) is one of the hardest things for me to do. In fact, if I was on my best behavior then I bet I could make this comment half as long :).

    However, with that being said, every time I let some copy sit for a few days I can always cut it down and it turns out much better.

      Great point, Phil – taking a break from writing your copy then revisiting it with a fresh perspective makes a world of difference. It always hurts me a little to reduce my copy but it’s like cleaning out my closet: I feel so much better when I’m done!

    Really great article, thank you! I took detailed notes. Testing at the wireframe stage is brilliant. I do have a burning question, but it’s slightly off-topic: If a small (solo start-up sized) company needs help with marketing, conversions, landing pages, etc. (who obviously fall way below Conversion Max’s target audience), what are the top resources for them? I know there’s an endless sea of info out there, but Theresa in your opinion, what’s a few of THE BEST resources? Thank you!

    This is a phenomenal article, and yes, you are correct in your graphic quote “don’t waste time talking to leads that aren’t your target market.” In my experience, so many people are just happy to generate a lead that they aren’t sure if it is a quality lead or not.
