Product innovation is at the forefront of every design my team works on. It would be a massive step backward not just for research for product design. it would be impossible for us to adopt a user-centric and data-informed approach as we simply would not have the time to gather data and keep up with development. I would probably feel useless to the business.

I think user testing is becoming more of a trend whereas before it wasn't readily available to many companies. When I first started in user testing, only the highest profile clients were using it because of the cost. UserTesting allows any company to get into user testing and gain instant insights.

I am in the early stages of my UX career so UserTesting was my first user testing experience. I thought it was very convenient for a first time user to be able to plan out a test and have it launched within a day. The users' feedback was really interesting to listen to, and I liked that you could bookmark significant points during the testing videos.

When running a discovery piece on an app, I've managed to gather insights that impacted different products across the business as well. The insight was so rich, I could use it to influence user centric design across other teams.

It put a face to the insights that stakeholders wouldn't usually acknowledge if it only came from a designer.

I needed to validate the usability of a feature in a very short time frame. I was able to gather a large number of responses in that time frame and therefore generate quick insights to validate the usability of a feature to our stakeholders.

In preparation for a large experiment and feature launch, running 7 rounds of user testing iteration helped our experiment win. It's critical to iterate on the feedback and bugs seen from each round, then validate in the next round that the solution was the right one. Speed is critical, and UT helps us validate fast.

We ran usability testing for a redesigned page on our site. The insights were excellent -- and doing unmoderated testing helps us mitigate some observer bias. I love when users start rambling to themselves about what they're thinking while doing something. It's those moments that I can get a peek into their actual thoughts while looking at a site.

Unhappy with our online conversion rates but unsure why people were dropping out of our funnel at one specific point, we built a test and ran it through UserTesting. Within hours, we identified a specific product feature that our target demographic needed to see in order to complete the transaction, and conversion rates doubled.

Every test we do helps, but they can also highlight issues which we are not testing for. Just recently we watched a video of a tester using our site in a way we had not intended - nor were testing. Realizing this we were able to make that route easier. We only found this out by watching the video of a first-hand user.

In developing new app features, we were able to get quick user insights on what worked and what did not, and were then able to make changes to the product based on this.

It has helped in solving debates around the conference room table, For example, our merchandising, marketing and product teams debated how to best communicate product naming conventions for a limited edition line. Within 1 hour of the meeting, a UserTesting study had a clear point of view (that was different than the opinions in the room) on what was most clear for the user.

A product manager had an opinion on how a screen should be designed (which was based on his aesthetic opinion rather than function/usability). This was problematic not only for that particular screen, but more so to the integrity of the design process - which should be driven by evidence and data rather than any one opinion. I quickly prototyped the screen both ways and ran the study within a matter of hours. By the end of the day, the evidence was compelling enough to override the product manager's direction. We were also able to leverage User Testing to validate and defend many future design decisions.

Benchmarking study of our current customer portal. The ability to watch so many users conduct tasks on the site and compare with a number of different scenarios and products provided us the insights we needed to make a drastic lasting change to our site experience. The users from UserTesting while not our real customers did provide feedback very similar to those customers surveyed and interviewed. We were able to share deep insights and make impactful presentations using highlight reels.

My company was adding a new feature to its website. We needed to know what users thought about the new feature before we went live. Their feedback helped us to improve the feature and it's been a successful launch!

We were enroute to a global research session and realized 1 week before that we were in urgent need of additional pre-tested content. Instead of a 3-5 week research cycle, we were able to launch and test potential messaging in a matter of hours just days before our research sessions.

I put my wireframe prototype on UserTesting for a usability test. An area of my prototype I assumed to be very easy to use had a major flaw I hadn't thought of. Because of the feedback from UserTesting, I was able to fix this usability flaw.

When the client challenged that the number of store intercept participants didn't provide enough "proof." We were able to run a test and capture an additional set of users for a lower cost than doing it in person.

I was running a quantitative study using Treejack from Optimal Workshop (+120 participants). I also wanted to get some qualitative data about how participants reacted to the labels presented in our information architecture. To do this I incorporated the Treejack study link into a UT test to capture some of the participants as they think aloud. These video clips were played to our executive staff in addition to the quantitative results. You could hear a pin drop in the room when they heard the voices and thoughts of our customers as they navigated our systems.

UserTesting helped me capture a very awful experience a person had with our company. I could share the video clip of her first-person storytelling -- the five minute video clip was more memorable and powerful because it put a human a the center of this experience.

We recently were given the opportunity to redesign our core review pages. However, we were given only 10 days to propose new designs. It also highlighted a serious issue with a separate part of the site that we had not previously noticed and we were able to rectify this.

We were looking into creating a tablet for seniors. But we weren't sure what the senior tablet user looked like, we were able to do a lot of remote tests with tablet users and really get a sense of who these people were. This allowed us to shape and direct the project moving forward.

Usertesting helped me evaluate a potential feature that had multiple layers of debate in my company. By creating versions of a prototype and asking customers to compare options side-by-side afterward, we were able to pick apart the words customers used out loud and what they understood when the words written in the interface were not the same as what they would speak. I was able to get a test plan together create eight variants in a rapid iterative process to meet my needs as I learned from each test, and touch 120 total costumers within three days. We found our answers, and moved forward at a speed that would not have been possible in the lab. It would have taken more than a month to conduct that test in the lab, and I'd still be transcribing video.

We've used UserTesting for a number of enhancements in the past and it helped with revising our lens selector specifically. Since the selection process requires more thought, UserTesting helped us organize our content and present in more bite-sized chunks instead of throwing too much information at a customer at any given step.

We introduced a tag called "Match" into our product cards. There was doubt and debate over whether or not shoppers would understand what "Match" meant. We ran 20 quick tests that helped give us more clarity to how shoppers were interpreting "Match."

A 3rd party marketing partner wanted to place an ad on our website as is without our company making any changes. I did not agree with the ad so I spun up an option I felt our customers would relate to and understand better and did a quick test of the two. The direct comments from the customers were needed to prove to the partner the ad they'd created wasn't relevant to our specific customers and needed tweaked.

There were several things about our business that we thought were "obvious" from our homepage. They weren't! User Testing helped us uncover these gaps and fix them to increase qualified conversions.

We were in the middle of a product design session and we were debating why someone would want to use a specific feature and what value it would provide/pain point it eliminates.
