How long does it take to apply to become a UserTesting contributor?
The entire application process, which includes taking a practice test, takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you apply, you'll hear back from our team within a few days. If you're accepted, you can start taking paid tests right away!
What do I need to apply?
To earn money online as a website tester (and apps and in-person experiences, too), you need a device with a microphone that meets the requirements outlined in the FAQs here. You also need an active PayPal account—this is how you get paid to do tests. Once you have all these requirements, you can take the practice test to qualify as a contributor.
How do I apply to become a UserTesting contributor?
Applying is easy! First, confirm your device meets UserTesting’s system requirements. Then, if you’re applying via desktop, visit the sign-up page here and submit your email address to apply. If you’re applying via mobile, please download the UserTesting app from the App Store or Google Play, then follow the prompts to submit your email address to apply.
After that, you’ll be asked to create your UserTesting account, which will include some basic information like your name, postal code, and PayPal email address.
How do I take my practice test?
Once you submit your personal information, you’ll see an applicant checklist. From here you can begin to take your practice test. Practice tests take around 7-10 minutes to complete. Be sure to give the recorder access to your screen and microphone before you begin your test so we can capture your feedback. A pre-test tutorial will show you how to navigate through your test.
What happens after I submit my practice test?
Once you submit your practice test, it will take a few days for it to be reviewed. We’ll notify you of the results via email, or you can check your applicant checklist for a status update. And if you haven't already, be sure to complete your applicant checklist while you wait for your results. The checklist includes completing your UserTesting profile and verifying your account email address. Keep in mind, the more complete your profile is, the more tests you’ll qualify for to make money online.
