  • Customer Service Representative

    Description
    This position has to balance and serve 3 different groups of people, giving excellent service to each! These groups are:

    • Customers – help our Customers have an excellent experience with UserTesting.com (most interactions will be by email, though you’ll probably get a few phone calls a day).
    • User Testers – our user testing community will have various questions and technical support problems that you’ll need to diagnose (also by email).
    • Office Team Members – help the office with anything from contacting bloggers, to tasks supporting our CEO, to running to the store as needed.

    We’re a growing company, so we hope you can help us shape and mold the Customer Service function!  You are a team-oriented worker, able to multi-task and keep up in a face-paced work environment. You love to learn and pick up new things quickly. You are willing to do whatever needs to be done in the office, whether it’s helping customers, implementing new processes, or running to Staples to pick up a keyboard!

    You type quickly and like to do email, but you aren’t afraid to pick up the phone and talk to someone when it’s appropriate. Your friends and co-workers tell you that you’re a direct and clear communicator. You might not be a computer wizard, but you’re comfortable around computers and computer systems. You pay close attention to details, you’re reliable with getting things done, you’re patient, you’re a hard worker, and most importantly you take great pride in helping other people!

  • Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

    Description

    We have some really exciting new ideas that need to be implemented and integrated into our system. We need someone who will work with our existing team of developers to add new features and optimize our code and database to improve scalability. Systems that we’ll likely improve in the coming months are our website tools, back-end user tester network systems, video playback system, and mobile device recording capabilities.

    You at least have the following skills and experience:

    • 5+ years web-based software development
    • 3-5 years Ruby on Rails experience
    • 2-3 years making architecture-level decisions
    • Thorough understanding of HTML / JavaScript / Ajax / XML technologies
    • You sometimes rewrite code to sleep better at night, but also
    • You sometimes hack together code in record-time to test out an idea or concept
    • Usually, you write clean, self-documenting and easy-to-maintain code

    Our ideal candidate also has:

    • BS in Computer Science
    • Agile / Scrum development environment experience
    • LAMP experience
    • SQL experience

  • User Tester

    Description

    Do usability testing of websites and earn $10 per website.

    How It Works

    1. Website owners ask for users to test their site. Whenever your demographic profile matches their target audience, you’re given the opportunity to test their website.
    2. You use our software to record a video of what’s happening on your screen – mouse movements, clicks, and keystrokes – and your spoken comments while you use the website you’re testing (videos are typically 15 minutes long). You’ll need a PC or Mac (Mac OS X 10.5 or higher) and a fast Internet connection.
    3. You answer four questions about your experience.
    4. You’ll earn $10 (paid with PayPal).
