Product adoption

What you'll learn
1. Insights about what drives usage and adoption of your product
2. An understanding of the context where the product is used
3. An understanding of what could make the experience easier and more delightful for customers
4. A comparison of usage feedback to what you learned during product discovery to see if designs address the identified problems
Product adoption is one of the metrics of what makes a launch successful. Get it right, and a high product adoption rate leads to a larger audience, paving the way for customer retention and loyalty.
This template is designed to help you discover what keeps your customer around—and identify opportunities to double-down on well-liked experiences and find features that may not be delivering what’s expected.
Consider asking your contributor:
- Why did you choose to do this over that?
- What would make doing _____ easier?
- What would you add or remove?
After you've launched a new product or feature, immediately test with contributors to address new challenges and evolve the experience to drive greater adoption or conversion. The questions you ask post-launch will help guide decisions on functionality or features you may need to add or remove. Consider even conducting a diary (longitudinal) study for long-term data.
If you’re following the Agile Process framework, plan for product adoption as one of the very first steps—in the initial planning stage.
To get started, you’ll need the name of the brand or product you’d like to evaluate.
