A Great Way to Share Honest Feedback and Try New Things

What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about UserTesting is the opportunity to share my honest opinions and provide feedback that can help companies improve their products and services. I also enjoy trying new things and knowing that my feedback can make a difference in the overall user experience.

What do you dislike about the product?

Sometimes there aren’t enough tests available, and it can be frustrating to spend time screening for opportunities without qualifying. Other than that, I enjoy the experience and the opportunity to share my feedback.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

UserTesting gives companies a better understanding of what customers actually think and experience when using their products and services. For me, it provides an opportunity to share my opinions, try new products and websites, and earn extra money while knowing my feedback can help businesses improve.

Excellent Tool for Global Survey Data Collection and Analysis

What do you like best about the product?

It's a very good tool for data analysis and collecting data worldwide in the form of surveys and statistical data it's very useful for analytical surveys.

What do you dislike about the product?

It's app is sometimes very difficult to work, as some surveys are eligible only for computers and cannot be completed on mobile phone. This leads to reduced opportunities to perform tasks in projects.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

User Testing has multiple types of testing options like think out loud studies and usability tests that help us test various products.

Fast, High-Quality Feedback—But Limited Global Panel and Rigid Pricing

What do you like best about the product?

The speed and ease of getting feedback is what sets UserTesting apart. You can have moderated, or unmoderated tests live within hours without any traditional onboarding or research and start watching the session recordings in the same day. The panel quality is also solid for Consumer facing studies meaning you're not just getting random feedback but the actual Quality that increases the ROI. Video Recordings with built in AI Highlight reels save significant synthesis time as well.

What do you dislike about the product?

Panels can skew heavily towards US/North America which makes a diverse demographic a real problem. The pricing model is also rigid which is credit base with expiry windows. It can create pressure to run tests even when the timing isn't right or the panel isn't what is required.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Closing the gap between the Product decisions and actual user behaviour is a problem that UserTesting is solving at a great scale, specifically for teams that have bandwidth issues. It can turn out to be most useful in two moments: early concept validation before committing engineering bandwidth and usability testing before a major release.

Easy-to-Use Testing with Valuable Insights, Despite Inconsistent Test Quality

What do you like best about the product?

I found UserTesting really good for identifying customer problems and providing thematic overviews, and the transcripts were helpful too. The interface is very easy to use. As a tester, I found it quick and easy to log in, see new tests, and complete stories. The in-browser testing platform was handy, and I liked getting a little chime when a new test was available. I also found the browser plugin useful, got paid pretty quickly, and received feedback from the testing companies.

What do you dislike about the product?

Sometimes the tests companies posted weren’t very well formatted and would break. Some were advertised as taking five minutes but actually took 15 or 20, so I ended up speeding through them, which wasn’t very helpful.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use UserTesting to identify customer problems and get overviews, including thematic overviews. The transcripts are really good too, and that’s been very helpful.

Fast App Feedback, but Tester Quality and Pricing Vary

What do you like best about the product?

UserTesting helps me find users to try our apps and give detailed feedback. I like that I can set up a test in a few minutes and get users’ feedback almost immediately, along with a video of them using the app and sharing their thoughts. The setup is very easy: I enter my app and questions, and the user goes through the process I outline.

What do you dislike about the product?

Sometimes the users who test are perfect and amazing, but sometimes they don't make the same effort or are less familiar with the app's domain. UserTesting is also quite expensive, and I would love for it to be cheaper.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use UserTesting to find engaged users who try out our apps and give us detailed feedback.

Straightforward Setup, User-Friendly Interface, and Fast Results

What do you like best about the product?

Setting up a study in UserTesting is very straightforward. The interface feels very user-friendly, and they also have a large panel. So if you want to run a quick study, you can count on getting results fast because of that.

What do you dislike about the product?

Since we run a lot of unmoderated tests, we want the experience to feel seamless for our users. One thing I don’t like about UserTesting is that it opens a new tab or window in the browser, and participants have to install browser extensions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

UserTesting definitely helped us identify gaps in the design and improve our IA. We especially loved doing card sorts and prototype testing, since it let us see whether the design we have actually makes sense to our users.

Easy Study Setup and Strong Screening Logic, but Panel Quality Could Improve

What do you like best about the product?

The studies are easy enough to set up, and there’s a good range of screening logic features you can use. That makes it much better than some similar products, because you can screen and route participants as needed.

What do you dislike about the product?

The panel quality is not great, it's almost all professional users who just look together more money meaning that they are way too attuned to usability problems and are not always that great on the subject either compared to a normal person

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The moderated and unmoderated studies work reasonably well have ever sometimes it lets through people with really bad connection compared to dscout

Love this tool for quick and valuable feedback

What do you like best about the product?

Usertesting allows us to get feedback about our website from real people, very quickly. You can screen the users to ensure they meet your criteria. Generally we get results back within an hour, it has never taken more than a day. I like that you can take notes directly in the videos, so that you can easily find your spot later on. You can also create highlight reels and share them with your team members.

What do you dislike about the product?

It would be nice if I could do all my analysis and notes in user testing's site. Right now I am able to create notes on the video, and share clips, but I'd love to have a space to easily record and share higher level insights. No, you don't get the subtle observations that you would in an in person usability test, but this tool lets you get quick feedback to build up to an eventual in person test that may be more valuable than if you hadn't done any online tests first.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take the time to speak with their support and customer representatives, they are very helpful.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With this tool we are able to get quick, valuable feedback on our website. We use this to make decisions and changes to our site with the goal of giving users what they really want.
