This review is my experience as a tester there. Totally legit. They are, so far, the only company that has provided me with daily tests to check, and paid for those I've taken at exactly 7 days after finishing them via PayPal. The main problem is that you won't qualify for most tests coming at you, as their customers want an user profile that, most probably, you won't fit. This varies from test to test. They might want an user tester working in a certain industry, people who buy in certain stores, airlines, banks; people who have a certain income or number of children or a specific bracket age. You don't have control over those variables. Another major problem is not the site, is the recorder extension. I lost plenty of tests, for which I had qualified, because it was malfunctioning. They always say to check this and that before reaching UT support, but most testers have already done those things before complaining, they are testers after all. It is a pity that they have such an unreliable recorder. When it works, it is great, but when it does not, it makes testers lose money and customers get annoying silent recordings. I have the impression, or rather suspicion, that some of all of the screeners are also used as a profiling method not only by the companies doing the tests, but by UT itself. I hope I am mistaken! They pay 10 USA bucks per test, which isn't bad. Although some of the tests are short, most of them have a long number of steps and will take between 15-30 minutes. Some companies have tests that can go for over an hour with 50+ steps for just 10 dollars; I don't blame the company but those who want produce such long tests knowing that the testers are paid very little. You won't become rich here, unless you have a specific demographic I guess, but it is a good source of extra income, and this is a very reliable company. The testers's online areas are very clean, totally functional and well organised, and very pleasant to use. Customer Service is useless. It takes ages for you to get a reply, and although they reply, eventually, it is first with a robotic kind of message that shows that the officer hasn't really read your query and acted on an impulse by reading the subject matter. When you complain about some of the companies testing requiring a huge amount of time for little money and for not explicitly saying that at the beginning, they blame you for staying in the test; but for some people this income is neccessary, and they put up with bad behaviour out of desperately needing extra cash. I had CS officers who needed four of my messages being as blunt as it gets for them to actually read my emails and respond to what I was asking not what they wanted to reply to. It is not acceptable that a company that trades in the stock market has such a poor service for those who make possible the site, which are the testers. The worst part is that customer service has grown worse at the same pace as the company is cashing in.
