It's legitimate site, not a scam; and you can earn some $, if you have the time. It's not difficult to understand how to do the tests, too. However, they lean to favor their customers, even when the contributor is in their right. Some tests are poorly written and hard to follow. I think UserTesting may spent more time education the test creators how to use the platform and conduct a test. The time and work of the testers have to be respected as well. There are tests meant to be for 10 min, but go for over 30min, with over 50 questions. There are tests with very abstract directions, hard to follow. On one occasion a customer left a nasty review, saying they don't like my voice and won't use the suggestions. The test was done in 26 min, when meant to be 10 min. Then UserTesting didn't remove the nasty review. On another occasion, the test couldn't be submitted, and nothing was done from customer support. I spent the time, so I expected some action or help. At least send the test for a second time. On another occasion a customer decided that they will not accept a test done, left 1 star review and I was not paid, as they decided I can't work what I actually work (some narrow minded judgment applied), and I don't meet the qualifications requirements. These are just examples of some really bad customers interactions, but enough to make you feel bad as well. I would suggest UserTesting to allow the testers to leave a review after the test, and to be able to make a suggestions when the instructions are unclear. Also, when a nasty review is left, we have to be able to respond. Not respecting the testers just makes the site looking like another Online Sweat Shop site.
