Great for creating highlight reels, but lacks some crucial advanced functionality.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating clips and highlight reels. That's a game-changer for qualitative analysis and reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's lacking some functionality that a professional researcher/ research team needs. For example, the ability to blacklist certain urls to prevent the recording of PII (vs relying on an imperfect blur filter set at the task level).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
capturing qual insights
Poorly designed product, slow outdated interface, few to no recent updates
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is being able to quickly recruit people to test with minimal friction
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a shockingly poorly designed product. The interface is rickety and everything loads slowly. The visual design and hierarchy is poor. Idk, compared to eg. Lyssna it's way way behind
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us test prototypes and design concepts
Your product is amazing. However the more I use the product the more I start to see the limitations.
What do you like best about the product?
The recordings, Metrics tab, the research environment. I appreciate Aiyesha and Tom they are really helpful and super knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
• The workaround of embedding a survey link in a short test is creating a poor user experience and impacting feedback quality. • Users are encountering difficulties opening external links and navigating back to the survey questions. Suggestion: • Microsoft Forms handles this very effectively by allowing images to be displayed directly alongside the relevant question. • Please view this survey: https://forms.office.com/r/0GMD3T3VZj Issue: We are currently working on adding the Jackpot City casino branding to the custom network on the UserTesting platform. However, we are encountering an issue with the suggested dimensions. The logo is appearing very small and is hardly visible. Could you please provide us with the specific design specifications (e.g., recommended dimensions, file format, maximum file size) that we should be using to ensure the Jackpot City logo displays correctly and is clearly visible on the platform? Suggestion 1: Feature Request: Text Formatting in Surveys • Could you please consider implementing text formatting capabilities within the survey creation tool? • Here is the link to the formatting shortcuts: https://help.usertesting.com/hc/en-us/articles/11880445709341-Shortcuts-for-formatting-text • We believe that the ability to format text (e.g., bolding, italics, bullet points) in survey questions and instructions would significantly improve the clarity and readability for testers. • This would help them focus on the key objectives of each question and make the survey less overwhelming, as currently large blocks of text can be difficult to digest. • Implementing these formatting shortcuts would enhance the overall testing experience and likely lead to more focused and accurate feedback. • Below is an example of what the question looks like without formatting. Creating Highlight reels is soo time consuming and the platform is sooo slow.

UserTesting is a good UXR tool.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope:
User Testing is a tool used for conducting user research, used primarily within the Customer Experience team, where we identify usability issues and potential improvements for a website or app during different phases of the website development. Business problem: conduct tests, recruit participants for testing, research management, etc. Scope: unmoderated usability testing, moderated testing (interview), survey, participant recruitment.
Likelihood to Recommend:
UserTesting saves us lots of time recruiting participants from the User Testing panel; it has a large number of participants you could recruit from and usually gets filled very quickly. Sometimes, for some, short tests took less than half a day to fill, which we highly appreciated. Hopefully, in the future, the video snippets and analysis feature will be easier to use.
Highly Recommend UserTesting!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope:
I use UserTesting's unmoderated, moderated, and quant functions. I use unmoderated to run new products or ideas by contributors and gather feedback on how much I like them and what we could improve. I use the quant for quick and simple surveys to gather feedback on products as well.
Likelihood to Recommend:
UserTesting makes finding respondents super quick and easy. I'm always amazed at how quickly I can fully recruit for an unmoderated or moderated test and how fast contributors are to upload their videos. Contributors are also well-trained to answer a prompt in its entirety and always provide thoughtful answers.
Transforming User Insights into Action.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope:
We use UserTesting to conduct qualitative research and usability testing, particularly for improving our digital experiences. Our primary goal is to ensure that our product meets the needs of micro-business owners by validating design decisions and uncovering pain points in their workflows.UserTesting is integrated into our UX research and product development processes, supporting multiple design, product, and marketing teams. It’s used for exploratory research (understanding user needs) and evaluative research (validating specific solutions).
Likelihood to Recommend:
Well-Suited Scenarios: Usability Testing for Prototypes – Quickly validate new dashboard layouts or workflows before development. Comparing Design Variations – Test different UI versions to determine which is more intuitive. Exploring User Behavior – Observe how micro-business owners interact with accounting tools. Less Appropriate Scenarios: Highly Specialized Audiences – Finding niche users like Canadian small business owners is harder: In-depth Longitudinal Studies – Lacks tools for ongoing user engagement over time.

Using UserTesting's umbrella of products to drive web conversion rates up!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope:
Working in marketing, we use UserTesting to help us surface user pain points and feedback that are then fed back to our optimisation squads. The squads pick out these opportunities for testing and we a/b test hypotheses backed by user research which helps drive conversion rates. We also use UserTesting to conduct user research on prototypes to allow us to get early feedback and for designers to iterate on experiences before they've ever even launched on the website.
Likelihood to Recommend:
We're currently using the UserTesting and EnjoyHQ platforms and we love the integrations between them. UserTesting allows us to run a plethora of multi-method studies and importantly, QXScore studies which help us internally benchmark our web experiences and track improvements. EnjoyHQ allows us to have a centralised repository of research insights, data analytics findings and experimentation results that keep our findings living and breathing with clear evidence and summaries and allows for stakeholders to self-serve insights which free's up the researchers to run more research. I'm anticipating the future of AI in UserTesting and EnjoyHQ which currently doesn't exist. I know there are some interesting plans for this and it's something currently lacking in the platforms we use so very exciting stuff. We also have run into recent issues with the recruitment panels either not being able to achieve the numbers we need or having poor quality results.
Great for de-risking product decisions with broad audiences.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope:
We use it to test concepts and designs with users. This helps us ensure what we're putting into the app before we launch!
Likelihood to Recommend:
For gen-pop apps that have large userbases it's great. For more specific recruits, I'd look elsewhere.
This platform is very easy to use. It also has many different types of tests and questions.
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and has lots of types of test and questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they can enable me to conduct the focus group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can set up the moderated and unmoderated tests with users on this platform. For the unmoderated test, the format is very smart and can lots of my time.
