I've been with User Testing for about a week. There are some goods and bad about joining the company. Now before I begin, I want you (the reader) to know that this is my personal opinion and experience with User Testing. Everyone will have a different experience and opinion.. When I first joined User Testing, I was really hyped because I was looking forward to make some extra cash working from home and for minimal effort. The company pays $10 per test which is about 10-20 minutes long averaging about $30 an hour. You get test or reviews about every few hours. in my experience. The things you'll need to be able to take the test or reviews is a smart phone or computer, both needing a microphone. Another thing is a quiet undisturbed area, as you'll need to speak your mind about the task given in the test or review. When you've received a test, it'll let you know if you need a computer, windows or Mac, and a smart phone, any smart phone compatible. After clicking the test and accepting it you'll be given a task to do, speak clearly and do as the task ask. That's pretty much that is to it. Very Simple. The only thing I've ran across that may cause an obstacle for most are the screenings they give. These screenings is a quick 5 question, no right or wrong answer, survey to see if you qualify to take the reviews. I'm assuming they do these screenings to fit the right person for the reviews. It can be frustrating, as for me, I haven't qualified for any test or reviews and it's been a week. Pros: - You work on your own schedule. - $10 per test that is 20 minutes long at the most, averaging about $30 an hour. - Able to work anywhere if you're using the mobile app. - Work from home for Computer test/reviews. Cons: - You get tests depending on your personal rating. For example, someone with a 5 Star rating will get more and seniority over you before you get a chance for the test or review. - You work when they send you tests to take or review. (Leaving you to customize your own schedule) - You're required to take a quick 5 question screening to see if you're the right person to take the review or test. If you don't meet the requirements you lose out on the test. - If you're at work and check your app on your phone and it sends you a test for Windows or Mac, you have to wait till you get home to use your Computer for the test. If you wait to long the test is up for grabs by someone else. - You're not guaranteed a test everyday (Atleast for me, I've waited a whole day for just one.)
