What do you like best about the product?

I'm a product manager/interaction designer try and use it on all my projects. Even with projects I'm confident in I'm always able to take away new insights and findings from watching users interact with prototypes.

What do you dislike about the product?

It can be hard to navigate through previous tests and setting up a test can be lengthy. It's also difficult to collaborate on tests, especially when the other user has limited permissions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

User testing is an essential part of bringing a new product live, whether you feel the updates are obvious or now. UserTesting is a quick and flexible way to gain insights into your product.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I typically use User Testing for testing new website features, especially when we're hoping to guide users through a flow. It's helpful to get insight from people who may not work in tech/use your product everyday.

It is useful for me to connect to my customers via user testing and get feedback.

I would love to have better UX and more custom tests

Good software. Highly recommend it but the price is a bit high.

User testing is great for uncovering missed behaviors or validating hypothesises

Not only the professional user interface but also the additional resources available are UserTesting's greatest strengths.

I'm usually skeptical about the relevance of the available researchers as my company works in a very specific domain. This is not directly related to UserTesting as a product though.

Reachability for a larger audience, coupled with available incentives for the researchers that adds a sincerity to their efforts, makes UserTesting a great tool to consider for testing and research.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mostly user research for our software products. UserTesting is a great way to validate ideas and get feedback on existing solutions.

What do you like best about the product?

How easy it is to set up a test, and how quick it is to find users. I save a lot of time not having to find users to conduct a test, and also by being able to duplicate and edit tests to iterate.

What do you dislike about the product?

Not being able to pause or stop the test. Sometimes I realize an error in the script and have no choice but to let it run and ignore the test results. It seems like a waste of testers' time that could be avoided.

Set up a trial test and preview to make sure your test is set up correctly and makes sense for the user.

It's helped me get unbiased feedback on prototypes, perform A/B tests, and also conduct market research.

Tests have a fast turnaround and it's great to recruit qualified users so quickly

What do you dislike about the product?

Most of their business model is charging you for quality of life / convenience updates. A base package may limit your users, and for a LOT more money you get a couple more people. This can be frustrating when all you need is something small like one more admin user.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Learn UserTesting's limitations. It's not great with linear prototypes. You need to screen carefully if your users are niche.

UserTesting is great for remote unmoderated user tests. It's best for quick feedback on simple concepts.
