Love the product; essential for driving better business outcomes

Use Cases and Deployment Scope:

We primarily use UserTesting to validate, evaluate and test product design problems. Sometimes we use it to validate a more modern experience, other times we use it to test new experiences that have been designed to address specifical problems within the user journey. We test products as a lower fidelity test before we do live site AB testing and eventually deploy new experiences globally.

Likelihood to Recommend:

Good/well suited: - Industry/competitive analysis - Quick perception test - Content analysis - Early & late stage prototype testing - Basic usability testing Less suited - API testing, personalization testing

Recruit as many participants as you need in MINUTES using a detailed screener

What do you like best about the product?

When launching a test with stringent recruitment criteria, my biggest fear is the amount of time it will take to get participants who qualify. *Knock on wood* Usertesting has not failed me in this department yet and usually provides participants within a day, even sometimes in 30 minutes!

What do you dislike about the product?

UserTesting still has to work on its AI features as it is not fully accurate. Especially when it comes to analyzing participants' sentiments, I don't find their negative/positive analyses to be particularly helpful. I usually ignore it. If anything, it creates more visual noise in the transcription of the user sessions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Given that UserTesting pre-screens and has a robust repository of participants, I save a lot of time because I don't have to draft consent forms and get participants to sign documents before getting into the main testing.

Easy to use and instant results

Use Cases and Deployment Scope:

We conducted over 800 usability tests on the platform to make crucial decisions on design implementations. This really helped us in achieving good results with our design changes. What I liked about it, was that the results came in so quickly and within an hour you had already a lot of responses. It made things much easier to understand where pain points were and how to make better choices.

Likelihood to Recommend:

For usability testing, it's perfect. It allows a variety of type of questions and the unlimited plan allows you to test everything, which is nice because you don't have to choose what to test.It was promoted as a "test everything" tool, but once we wanted to renew, the sales team did not like our power usage and was very unfriendly in making offers.

Fantastic tool for getting feedback fast

What do you like best about the product?

Find users to test with quickly. The ability to run unmoderated tests means you can run tests at scale and gather and analyse insights really quickly.

What do you dislike about the product?

Some of the users that come through do not match the target user profile.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Testing usability of prototypes or new features. Assessing fit of propositions. Assessing clarity of copy. All these help us ship prodcuts that are clear and easy to use, and we can make those improvements in designs before we actually build them in code.

Robust tool that's great for getting fast results

What do you like best about the product?

Due to UserTesting's market size, you can get very fast results from its vast pool of testers. It has also grown (or acquired) a lot so that it has many tools and methods for collecting user feedback.

What do you dislike about the product?

The biggest downside is the cost, as the per-subject costs seem reasonable, but the per-seat licenses do not seem reasonable.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

UserTesting allows me to get quick feedback on product feature ideas and design mockups.

UserTesting continually improves efficiency of research tasks

What do you like best about the product?

The countinual improvement of AI-assisted (or AI-like) features such as sentiment tagging make analysizing responses faster. Ability to make clips, highlight reels for sharing with collegues. The addition of card-sorting and other specific research tasks has been very helpful in keeping all of my response and research data in one central place.

What do you dislike about the product?

Often confused by the organization architecture of workspaces and studies. It takes me a minute to know where i am in respect to the study i'm looking for. Would love to see the expansion of AI-automated tasks to further reduce the time in gathering and sharing insights.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

A huge benefit is being able to field research remotely. I've also used their premium support (power sessions, I think they're called) which has been very helpful in creating more effective research plans and tasks.

Love this tool for quick and valuable feedback

What do you like best about the product?

Usertesting allows us to get feedback about our website from real people, very quickly. You can screen the users to ensure they meet your criteria. Generally we get results back within an hour, it has never taken more than a day. I like that you can take notes directly in the videos, so that you can easily find your spot later on. You can also create highlight reels and share them with your team members.

What do you dislike about the product?

It would be nice if I could do all my analysis and notes in user testing's site. Right now I am able to create notes on the video, and share clips, but I'd love to have a space to easily record and share higher level insights. No, you don't get the subtle observations that you would in an in person usability test, but this tool lets you get quick feedback to build up to an eventual in person test that may be more valuable than if you hadn't done any online tests first.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take the time to speak with their support and customer representatives, they are very helpful.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With this tool we are able to get quick, valuable feedback on our website. We use this to make decisions and changes to our site with the goal of giving users what they really want.
