Great service for getting quick feedback or something more in-depth

What do you like best about the product?

– Great customer support should you have a question or issue – Easy to recruit and build studies – Useful metric features to view ratings, time on tasks, paths, multiple choice prompts, and sentiment analysis – Incredibly quick turnaround time on launching studies and getting results back

What do you dislike about the product?

– Technical issues periodically – Participants in unmoderated studies not being very good user testers (but UT has great functionality built-in to alleviate these situations to replace a tester at no cost or fix the issue)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ease of recruitment, streamlining research operations through screener templates and study templates, hosting videos or results to easily share with stakeholders

Great testing tool

What do you like best about the product?

Really easy interface, means even beginners can set up tests quickly

What do you dislike about the product?

Many of the testers clearly do not fit the criteria

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are no longer going with gut feel for explaining customer behaviour, and now have direct quotes to prove hypotheses

What do you like best about the product?

Simple and quick to publish at test for a prototype and get responses back

What do you dislike about the product?

Proper screening, even when set up correctly still isnt stringent enough to get the correct users testing

Recommending this tool for any UX team!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope:

Our UX/UI team uses UserTesting regularly to conduct research studies. We have used different features, from unmoderated tests like A/B testing or prototype tests to live user interviews. We enjoy the pool of candidates that are found within a few minutes of the test launch. Why do we use it? To talk to users within our industry to understand their needs, motivations, and expectations when using products like ours. We believe this tool is currently the best option on the market to combine all of our research efforts. The only struggle is the limited amount of pre-screener questions and the limitations within Canada (provinces/terretories).

Likelihood to Recommend:

Any research efforts are met perfectly with this tool. We can do moderated or unmoderated sessions and utilize the transcript for quotes. For live sessions like user interviews, we also like the option to have a note taker in the call that the participant is unaware off. We believe this created less stress on the participant. As mentioned before, the only problem we are facing as a Canadian company is the pre screening process. We would like to have participants represented from within all our provinces and territories. This causes us to launch multiple tests and then reject/accept a certain province for each one.

Great original tool, junky integrations

What do you like best about the product?

Their original tool is unmatched, user friendly, quick tester response, quick customer support.

What do you dislike about the product?

Junky integration after consolidating so many companies. Was forced+upsold for hundreds of thousands of dollars to get access to additional tools not integrated into their ecosystem. It will take years for them to fully integrate. That means we get access to tools that do not talk to each other, that work differently, different customer service reps, different everything. You have to relearn every one. Many of them have poor usability. Also, each of them have their own upselling and pricing models. They are different companies which UT has linked from their main site. That's it. And we were forced to this sub-par experience. By forced, I mean they told us they were going to stop supporting our account.

Decent tool to gather user feedback and insights

What do you like best about the product?

I like the ability to do unmoderated user testing without having to manually recruit participants as this saves me a ton of time! I also like the ability to use AI insights although they are sometimes inaccurate and definitely require double checking.

What do you dislike about the product?

Yes, AI Insights, their CommUnity which used to be great but now is horrible (please bring the old community back and honor the badges and points everyone worked so hard to earn that suddenly disappeared in February). I'd also love if they improved their communication as they have ignored messages in the CommUnity when reaching out for help. Communication for support bugs that happen for test analysis, which are crucial to ensure those are accurate, requiring more manual work as I have to tediously check to ensure every single answer is correct. For example, you use a scale rating and users select one option but the Metrics tab shows they selected another option, we have premium chat support but weeks later it still isn't resolved after reaching out by chat and email for help leaving us to have to abandon the test results as they are not reliable and we simply don't have the time to go through each of them. I felt quite helpless at that point when UserTesting is supposed to speed things up not slow them down.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us understand how users interact with our website and how we can make the experience better for them. Sometimes we have assumptions but aren't sure how they would truly feel about it and it helps to test those so we have answers early in the project. It also helps us move things forward in the process by showing why it's so important to make proposed changes.

UserTesting is the ultimate time-saver for all kinds of research projects

Use Cases and Deployment Scope:

My team uses UserTesting to conduct moderated and unmoderated usability testing and interviews. The platform solves for not having to manage your own recruitment and incentivization processes. It also helps with the recording and analysis process post-facilitation.

Likelihood to Recommend:

UserTesting is the best tool I've worked with for facilitating any research projects - ranging from discovery to evaluative research. I appreciate that it offers a variety of methods, beyond just usability testing. It also includes newer features like card sorting and tree testing. By integrating these features, it negates the need to use another tool such as OptimalWorkshop for which your team may not have a license.

Love this tool for quick and valuable feedback

What do you like best about the product?

Usertesting allows us to get feedback about our website from real people, very quickly. You can screen the users to ensure they meet your criteria. Generally we get results back within an hour, it has never taken more than a day. I like that you can take notes directly in the videos, so that you can easily find your spot later on. You can also create highlight reels and share them with your team members.

What do you dislike about the product?

It would be nice if I could do all my analysis and notes in user testing's site. Right now I am able to create notes on the video, and share clips, but I'd love to have a space to easily record and share higher level insights. No, you don't get the subtle observations that you would in an in person usability test, but this tool lets you get quick feedback to build up to an eventual in person test that may be more valuable than if you hadn't done any online tests first.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take the time to speak with their support and customer representatives, they are very helpful.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With this tool we are able to get quick, valuable feedback on our website. We use this to make decisions and changes to our site with the goal of giving users what they really want.
