I like that you can create a transcript of the video. Demographic controls were great. The ability to tag segments of the video on the fly is great.

What do you like best about the product?

The first thing I really like the fact that it is a self service tool. Anyone in my team: designers, user researchers, product managers can use it by themselves as long as they have screenshots or a mock. I also like how intuitive and fast it is to use. The UI is really brilliant and it takes only a few minutes to understand what is asked. The fact that the mock can be shared with other stakeholder for reviewal is also a pretty good feature as often times these need to be double checked by team members.

What do you dislike about the product?

I dislike three things. The first thing that I dislike is when you set up the test with a mock (Invison) there is no clear understanding and how the questions you are writing map to a particular screen. I had to have another screen side by side with the mock and then write questions on the other screen. I had issues when I tested the user testing prototype and had to readjust. The second problem is that listening to all video is really time consuming and I wish I could get some sort of spreadsheet with data from each screen of the video that I could pull out in a reusable format. The third problem is when I wrote comments/notes on parts of the video I don't understand what I can do with that data. Where will I be able to find it later? how does that become insightful? It is a big problem when you try to turn around tests fasts like we do at Amazon and you feel like those extra tools are not helpful.

Watch and read some tutorials on their support page or on youtube before you dive in.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have been trying to do two things. The first one is understand how a feature is understood by a user and how do they formulate their opinion about it and the second one is what parts of a flow need to be optimized to minimize funnel drop off.

What do you like best about the product?

Ease of use and ease of recruiting users.

What do you dislike about the product?

There may be recruiting constraints due to the niche nature of the product. User results should also be taken with a grain of salt.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Get early signals from customers if our design concepts will work or get feedback on prototypes. Its been great to get this feedback quickly with usertesting.com and incorporate the feedback into the products.

What do you like best about the product?

User Testing allows you to designate the type of users you are modeling for, and actually watch them navigate your site in recorded sessions. Users are trained to do "think alouds" so we get to see and hear the actions and thinking of users similar to your target users. The turnaround times are incredibly fast too. I've made many discoveries through these insights and find this to be a marvelous solution.

What do you dislike about the product?

Honestly, I can't think of anything. I really like it.

We analyzed our navigation hierarchy and validated the revisions to it. We also examined the usability of our home page.

What do you like best about the product?

What I love about UserTesting is how fast it provides you insights from users and lets you make a business decision. Users who offer feedback on user-testing are highly involved and take the process seriously. The tool is easy to use and offers tons of templates for various use cases if you are new to UX research. It not only allows you to gather unmoderated product feedback, but you can also lets you execute other qualitative research studies such as surveys, focussed group discussions, diary studies etc.

What do you dislike about the product?

The targeting available can be more exhaustive and granular. At times you can tell users who are giving the feedback somehow gamed the system by not offering honest answers to the screener questions. Have experienced figma prototypes not working on usertesting at times but must have been resolved by now

It's a great tool for fast prototyping. I highly recommend their templates to use if confused or facing trouble getting started. Great tool to share results/video clips with other stakeholders as well

What do you like best about the product?

The synthesis tools are good for looking at research holistically across clicks and replies. I also appreciate watching videos and the ease of creating, sharing, and stringing together video clips.

What do you dislike about the product?

The program is slow, and the menu options are hard to find. It takes a few times to remember all the settings and how to adjust them. It's also difficult to copy data out of the tool if you need to access it later. I like that I have the option to use my own panel, but their panel is very well trained. I've found the feedback from their trained users to be slightly biased due to their testing experience. Users also struggle to move the controls out of the way during testing and remember to see the prompt. They really struggle with the interface, and it can bias results. The old interface was a bit smoother for users.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Usability and click testing. It can be nice to have a consistently test that I don't need to modify.

What do you like best about the product?

I really like the read aloud and fresh eyes features as they allow me to reach a diverse group of individuals and I can get a more concise answer versus if someone only types a response. User testing also provides nice analytics of questions in an excel export which is really helpful. I also appreciate that on the scaled rating questions, UT allows for unique scales (ex. Least -Most Importance)

What do you dislike about the product?

I wish there was more robustness in creating screener questions. As I am not a researcher and do not have much experimental design experience, I struggle with coming up with proper screeners. Sometimes I think people are able to cheat the system. Also, I wish that UT would have a question feature where people can rank multiple choices (ex. place these 5 features in order of importance.) Sometimes, the transcriptions are a bit clunky so I find myself having to go back through the recordings.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take advantage of their academy and training videos. They offer a lot of good resources that can help you create better tests and get the most out of the tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are getting answers as to the usability or our solution along with feature preference. Our team is very much focused on evidence based experimentation and UT allows us to quickly gain that evidance and then persevere or pivot as necessary. ALso, we have noticed an increased time savings since we do not have to fill out paper work for each UT interview or experiment that we run.
