UserTesting is an indispensable tool to any good UX Designer :)
What do you like best about the product?
It allows to setup a test, get result, analyse them and act on them extremely fast. If you were to do real world lab test the process would take weeks, here it usually takes me a day from test ideation to analysis. I like that when a test doesn't go the way it should have been (poor audio, testers tested the wrong thing, etc) UserTesting.com will always replace the test with another one in a matter of minutes. And because it's so fast to get something tested, the lost time does not make any difference into my day. It's an excuse to get another coffee. I also like that you can do split groups (A/B) to test variations of design and that User Testing will randomized in which order they are seen to remove bias.
What do you dislike about the product?
The users in UserTesting default panels sometime seem like experts. Because they know the tool and are paid to use it they are de facto professional testers. When something seems easy to them I like to take it with a grain of salt - and build another test. Conducting remote testing allows to gain efficiency but it requires to write test scenario a certain way, to make sure that you don't create bias or send testers the wrong way. It's a skill that needs practice.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always to a dry run of your test (launch one test) to make sure that the language is understood, tasks are in the right order, prototype does not bug, then roll out to another 5 testers to get the right number of testers per Nielsen Norman recommendation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using UserTesting to validate concept, validate problems, validates flows. It allows me to: select the right experience, enhances experiences, prioritize the right problem to go after.
It took some time to get going, but worth the effort
What do you like best about the product?
There are many positive aspects to UserTesting, but the speed of getting responses to a question is my favorite benefit. It is easy to set up a survey, and responses start to flow in after about ten minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some elements of UserTesting's package that may be useful to other organizations but that we don't use. It may be that we are simply naive, or very simple in our approach, but I don't see a time when we will need the consulting/help services that UserTesting offers. I would rather that development concentrated on make the product simpler than giving personal services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it, but have a plan for usage before you start. Know what you want to get out of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user reactions to proposed flows and design changes are the biggest areas of benefit for us. As a result of using UserTesting, we are not spending time developing UI/UX that our users don't like
Easy and Fast User Testing
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspect of the UserTesting is being able to choose the demographic you want to target. You can get down to really precise details about it and they help you find them. Also, I usually get a response to my test within hours which helps us move relatively fast with decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the quality of users can vary. There have been moments when the user has issues running through the test or don't give enough information to questions being answerd.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like to test variations of designs with users to see which one might be more impactful for us.
Great Platform for User Feedback
What do you like best about the product?
The combination of video and screen recording proves very beneficial when tracking bugs or getting suggestions for increased user friendliness. The platform really allows the tester to review your website in real time and in a way that most users would engage. This allows you to see the interaction and also allows the tester to provide valuable feedback. We have used User Testing for 2 years and find it to be a very good tool that provides feedback we would not receive otherwise. The testers are by and large very dedicated to testing and provide great feedback on bugs, the user interface and overall user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
A recent change to how you schedule future tests is not intuitive and confusing. The scheduling still works as it should but just a little confusing. Everything else about User Testing works very well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test drive it and see what they have to offer. It has been a very valuable resource for us and it works on all platforms. The video with integrated audio feedback is great and proven time and again to be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use User Testing to identify bugs on our websites under development. We also use it to engage the tester and gain insight into user friendliness, navigation, the user interface and user experience overall. Some of our best implementations have come for suggestions of testers. We feel that we would not be as successful today if we had not had the insight of the testers on User Testing.

Reliable & consistent user feedback
What do you like best about the product?
Really like the live conversation option, as it allows us to very quickly gain access to users within our defined demo. I also really like the detail & metrics view which allows for a quick review of the overall study. In addition, the clip sharing is fantastic, because you can include a short clip to simultaneously demonstrate your point.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to delete previously launched studies, this contributes to a cluttered dashboard. I know with the more premium versions you can create folders, however, I feel this option should be a basic feature for all to create a better user experience by helping to organize your dashboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review their library so you get up to speed with best practices, also there is community support that can very quickly be accessed to hear how others are utilizing the tool, and connect with like minded companies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly feeding into new product designs, and validation of ideas. A few times a week we test multiple prototypes, sometimes including live sites, and the ability to very quickly get some indication of the user experience is really fantastic. In addition to prototype testing, we also run competitor studies, to understand how we are comparing against some of our main competitors in terms of ease of use and overall site experience for both mobile as well as desktop. The competitor insights are greatly handy in allowing us to get a quick pulse on how we are tracking.
User-friendly, efficient testing platform
What do you like best about the product?
Really easy to set up user tests, with lots of helpful question types. Great template tasks as well, very handy when splitting testing with colleagues that have less experience with testing. Very quick turn around times, and good quality videos and feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have a more global community of testers, especially outside Europe and English-speaking countries. Navigation through the platform is a bit unfriendly. 5 seconds test not very well done as a feature
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most comfortable from a financial perspective since you pay an annual bill and have unlimited tests. Very good value for money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly used for classic user tests. Now started to run unmoderated interviews to get quick insights into how people manage with the pandemic.

UserTesting positive review!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it was to learn the platform of UserTesting, as well as, the terrific support staff UserTesting has. Any questions or issues I have run into have been solutioned in 24 hours (if how faster) . This platform has changed the way our company operates and we have become much more effective with our time! By receiving real feedback from our users in a timely fashion we are able to make updates and changes to our products much faster which enables us to be more of an agile workspace.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have any major dislikes, I think I would love to see UserTesting provide a little more support or documentation when it comes to explaining what UserTesting actually is to different stakeholders. Sometimes I run into issues where I spend more time explaining what UserTesting actually is rather then reviewing the results with my stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try first, because once you use it you will see just how powerful this tool is and what it can be used for! The UserTesting team is super helpful with demo's and support so I highly recommend giving it a try first. We have been using UserTesting for about 2 years now and absolutely love the product and the community who uses UserTesting is also super receptive to questions and collaboration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting has given us a foundation of data over hierarchy within the organization. We no longer operate on feelings and opinions and can back our decisions with data and confidence through live interviews, un-moderated testing as well as comparing our competitors products directly against ours. For example when I am working with stakeholders who have very specific KPI's I am able to test directly against what they are attempting to measure. This has enabled my team to be a number one source of truth for the company and now the Research team has basically been baked into everyones workflow to include us to help teams gather insights. Additionally, when I am working with Designers who have questions about what they are building - UserTesting allows me to record live interviews and share them with our Designers and Developers to give real feedback directly from the horses mouth. This has sped up our development lifecycle by 3 times at least. Having secondary conversations about doubts or questions surrounding a product has diminished dramatically since we have started using UserTesting. The best benefit for me using UserTesting is that I am able to generate real data in a same day capacity which is a 1st for us and has enabled us to work much faster and more confidently.
Love this tool for quick and valuable feedback
What do you like best about the product?
Usertesting allows us to get feedback about our website from real people, very quickly. You can screen the users to ensure they meet your criteria. Generally we get results back within an hour, it has never taken more than a day. I like that you can take notes directly in the videos, so that you can easily find your spot later on. You can also create highlight reels and share them with your team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if I could do all my analysis and notes in user testing's site. Right now I am able to create notes on the video, and share clips, but I'd love to have a space to easily record and share higher level insights. No, you don't get the subtle observations that you would in an in person usability test, but this tool lets you get quick feedback to build up to an eventual in person test that may be more valuable than if you hadn't done any online tests first.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to speak with their support and customer representatives, they are very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this tool we are able to get quick, valuable feedback on our website. We use this to make decisions and changes to our site with the goal of giving users what they really want.
